Sustainability

Standfast & Barracks is committed to the development of our sourcing and production processes into more sustainable and environmentally friendly business practice. These advances, enhance the excellence of our printed textiles, creating high quality products with lower environmental impact.

Protecting our Future

Since 2021, all our 100% cotton base fabrics and cotton velvets are fully Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) sourced. The traceable BCI route ensures we can monitor environmental impacts, safe working practices, and fair treatment of all persons in the supply chain corresponding to our Global Ethical Trading Policy. Our cloth range also offers base fabrics sourced in collaboration with the Seaqual Initiative, using recycled plastic, salvaged from oceans to create an innovative, quality cloth choice.

Our new Ecofast™ print process, the result of significant investment, provides our customers with the opportunity to utilise the latest pigment digital printing technology.
Ecofast™ uses high definition Durst Pigment Inks to print “multi-colour” performance fabrics suitable for indoor and outdoor use and is OEKO-TEX® Certified for all cotton-based fabrics. The water and energy consumption of Ecofast™ compared with Conventional and Digital Reactive printing is vastly reduced, benefitting the environment on a local and global scale.

The Seaqual community includes industries, NGOs, Fishermen, Communities and Authorities across the globe working together to create high-quality products from marine plastic.

Seaqual Yarn, containing up-cycled marine plastic, is used to produce our expanding range of recycled fabrics, providing a quality base for our EcofastTM Digital Printing while cleaning our oceans.
