At Standfast & Barracks we control the print process from start to finish, providing support to our customers throughout every stage. We are continually expanding and investing into further production capabilities and technologies to fulfill product demands and requirements.

Preparation

Standfast & Barracks' in-house engraving department houses the latest equipment for both rotary and flatbed printing.

Having on site screen engraving facilities means we have complete control of the process, ensuring only the highest quality print mark.

The digital files created in our separation studio are used to engrave screens, with both rotary and flatbed screens engraved on site. A variety of repeat/screen sizes are available for both methods. Rotary screens are engraved using state of the art CO2 laser technology, offering both speed and accuracy.

Our flatbed screen engraving process is performed via a micro mirror system controlling a high intensity UV light. the exposure head moves across the screen, data scrolling continuously to give an extremely accurate and seamless image.

Dyeing

Our team of in-house dyers created dye recipes to achieve specified individual dye shades which far exceed required performance standards.

Highly experienced in the complex chemistry of dyeing to match colouration, our expertise means that we have the skills to dye to match absolutely any specified shade.
We use vat, reactive, pigment, disperse, discharge and acid dyes, and can both jig and pad dye to achieve optimum results.

We offer batch dyeing, with a minimum order quantity of 200 meters.

Finishing

We've invested in state-of-the-art machinery for finishing, and can create any finish to meet customers' requirements in terms of drape, handle, feel, appearance and performance.

Our finishing department includes ‘airo’, best suited for linens, ‘shrinking’, suitable for linen unions due to its ability to produce a soft feel, and ‘calendar/chintz’ which makes the cloth shiny.

We have several technical finishes available including flame retardant, water repellent, and Ecofast, a trademarked finish we have newly developed in house.
