Standfast & Barracks is the UK’s leading specialist printer of high end furnishing, apparel and camouflage fabrics. Based in Lancaster, it has been printing fabrics for over 90 years and is one of the most versatile and capable printers in the world, producing the finest quality prints.

An opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join our Design team.

Your role will include management of the Design team, instigation of improvements within the Design department, and facilitation of the increase of in-house designs for customers.

You will have the ability, skill and knowledge to come into this role and create a collection which can immediately be sold to our customer base.

As well as managing and developing our team of designers, you will explore new ways to improve product designs to customers and new markets, proactively responding to changing business trends and manage innovation within the team.

You will help support the commercial development of our Sales & Marketing Strategy and work to support development of our Group synergy.

You must be an experienced senior designer with over 10 years’ experience in a senior role in design and colour development.

You must have experience of managing a creative design team, knowledge of trends and fabrics, with commercial experience of the Interior Fabrics Market (UK and Export).

Excellent technical knowledge of print and woven textiles, with strong planning, presentation and analytical skills are required.

The role requires effective time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A degree in Textile Design or a related field is essential.

Our hours of work will be from 8.30am to 5.00pm.
